'Once Upon a Time' Romance Rundown: Is True Love's Kiss Coming in the Season 4 Finale?!

It's time for our last Romance Rundown of the season!

With Once Upon a Time's epic two-hour season finale just a few days away, it's time to get the inside scoop on what's next for all of your Storybrooke sweethearts.

Once again, we at ETonline chatted with OUAT's executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis to find out what's in store for Captain Swan, Rumbelle, Outlaw Queen and Snowing in this Sunday's season four finale.

Plus, could another "true love's kiss" be headed our way? Read on to find out more about a "hot" hook-up coming in this week's episode...

Rumbelle: That must have been the shortest honeymoon in TV history, because Belle (Emile de Ravin) and Rumple (Robert Carlyle) fans have had a heartbreaking season when it comes to their fairytale twosome. For those who are tired of trying to figure out what's next for Rumbelle, the two showrunners are promising a solution.

"We are going to get some resolution as to where they stand," Horowitz explained. "Rumpelstiltskin and Belle have had a long and winding road and the long and winding road continues, but we love those characters and what they both mean for each other."

Kitsis added, "We're going to get real insight into why Rumple has behaved the way that he has."

Snowing: Now that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) has finally forgiven her parents, it's time to stop seeing them act like scolded puppies, and start seeing them in a new (and epically wicked!) light.

"They did a bad thing and they have to pay for it," Kitsis teased. "We -- in the finale -- are going to see Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Charming (Josh Dallas) like you've never seen them before, I can promise you that. But I think we're going to hopefully get a resolution out of them this year."

Outlaw Queen: To say that this season has been an emotional roller-coaster ride for Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Robin (Sean Maguire) would be a severe understatement. Their love has been thrown for so many loops, that we're still dizzy with confusion.

Luckily, it's time to finally get some answers for Outlaw Queen's relationship. (We're so tired of their current "it's complicated" status!) "We are going to get a resolution and clarification on just what their situation is by the end of this year," Kitsis spilled.

Captain Swan: Emma and Killian (Colin O'Donoghue) have shared some pretty sweet moments this season, and although we're not sure if they'll share a coffee date by the end of Sunday's finale, we do know that we’re in for some major relationship revelations.

"Captain Swan are going to be tested like always," Kitsis confessed. "And we are going to get an emotional truth about them."

Could that "emotional truth" be a true love's kiss?! We asked the EPs if we can expect a spell-binding smooch from one of our couples in this weekend's finale, and they were very coy with the who in their answers.

"There's some kissing action going on in the finale," Horowitz promised. "What it does and how it works may not be as we've seen before, but there's definitely some kissing action."

Kitsis continued, "Are we going to get a true loves kiss that break a curse? No. Is there kissing in the finale? I believe there is. There's always some kissing, and whether or not it's going to break a curse with true love, it'll be hot nonetheless."

Anything? How about what will be a trending topic during the epic two-hour event? "#Ogreslayer!" co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis predict. And make sure to check back with us a little later in the week for some more finale scoop from Adam and Eddy!

Anyone think Emma in this alternate side is James' daughter who was in Snow after James died?

Once Upon a Time Bosses Tease Secret Finale Scene, Tackle 'End Date' Topic

Almost a year to the day that Once Upon a Time surpised viewers with a parting glimpse of Queen Elsa, the ABC series this Sunday will uncork another top-secret season-ending scene.
But unlike a year ago, this filmed-in-secrecy twist won’t introduce any familiar fairy tale face but a different kind of surprise element, one that will have repercussions for Season 5.

“There is a top-secret scene that I’m shocked hasn’t got out — but there’s still time!” Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis tells TVLine with a knowing laugh. “We’ll absolutely be setting up what Season 5 will be, but unlike last year where it was, ‘Hey, it’s Frozen,’ or the year before which was, ‘Hey, we’re going to Neverland,’ this one will be much more like Season 1 in that it’s a condition of the show that changes and has ramifications for everyone.”
Adds co-creator Adam Horowitz: “If we zigged in the past, we’re hoping to zag this time.”
Whatever the hush-hush moment looks like, it will cap a two-hour finale that, as revealed in promos and photos, illustrates the role-reversing history rewrite that a dying Rumplestiltskin is dictating to The Author, Isaac, for the new storybook Heroes & Villains. Though Regina no longer requires the scribe’s services to secure her own happy ending, Kitsis says, “We feel we owe it to the audience to show what happens whan the Author does start to write, and what he can do.”

Speaking of authors, the Once bosses are in no rush to write toward a predetermined end date, as the ABC drama they previously called home, Lost, famously did, announcing three years in advance that its story would end after Season 6.
“I don’t think we want to set out a particular end date for this show,” Horowitz said when TVLine bandied about the possibly predetermining a finish line. (First things first, ABC has yet to announce 2015-16 TV season pick-ups for any of its scripted series.) “I mean, we have in our mind how we would like to wrap up the stories of these characters. But without having the specifics of exactly how we get there, it’s really not possible to [set a series finale date]. It’s more about building everything towards what we think would be a satisfying conclusion.”
“We know kind of where we want to end the show,” adds Kitsis. “It’s really a matter of how long, how many more years that will take.”
That said, Kitsis notes, “We would much rather to go out on our terms than be gently kicked out the door!”

Any scoop on the Once Upon a Time finale? Please? –Paul
As AA was going to press, Matt Mitovich had juuuuuust cued up Sunday’s two-hour closer, which opens, he says, with perhaps the most Lost-like sequence in the show’s history, as we find out how Isaac came to be an Author. And lest you think the Snow Dark/Bandit Regina/Noble Rumple role-reversal twist is played just for fun, be assured that it’s all part of a rather dark mystery/puzzle that Henry must solve, in what is far and away the lad’s most “-centric”episode to date.

Question: I have a question concerning Once Upon a Time. Will we ever know what happened between Will Scarlett and Anastasia (The White Queen)? Any chance to see her in the future? —Marine
Ausiello: In the future, yes, there’s a chance. But during this season, which has only Sunday’s two-hour finale remaining, no. “Unfortunately, there was not room to bring Anastasia on this year,” says series co-creator Adam Horowitz. “But hopefully we will in the future, because we’d love to tell that story.
